Today we were inspired by our favorite hair blog to do a side ponytail. Of course its church night and we needed a fast style. So I did a few simple braids and pulled them over to the side and added a bow.
Ive been making a few new items lately. I made the baby a new headband to match her cherry outfit. I made Sis a new bow for her church dress.
And of course I made a couple pairs of flip flops for her.
Im a huge fan of braids because they are so quick and easy and anyone can do them. Since the weather here is amazingly warm I pulled Sis's hair in pigtails as well to keep her cool.
This is one of our tball hairstyles. I try to do something fun and different for every game. For this one I just pulled Sis's hair up in three sections. Then I split those sections into two more and did corkscrew braids. This is one we've done many, many times in the past. I saw it on another blog and thought I would use it today for Sis's church field trip. Its super easy and quick.
Today we wanted to try something alittle different. So we decided to use a headband and put braids around it to secure it in place. Then I just extented the braids and joined them into a ponytail. I thought it was cute and it stayed in place all day, from 11am till 9pm!
This is our hair for the holiday. I did the double diamonds followed by braided pigtails. Then added the red, white and blue bows. It took about 15 minutes to do and stayed in very well while the kids played at the lake.
Today is Friday, which means Sis has to wear her school colors....blue, gold and white. We did her hair in some criss-cross braids that end in braided pig tails. I just made it up as I went along. Its going to be warm here today and I was looking for a style that would allow her to stay cool and still looks cute. Im sure as time goes on I will tweak this one to look better. We of course were in a hurry to get to school. ALWAYS running late!
Today must have been the day for buns. I checked out the other hair blogs this afternoon and saw several ladies had done them this morning as well. I just pulled Sis's hair into a pony and braided them in two sections. Then I wrapped the braids around one another and secured them with bobby pins and a new bow I made to match this outfit. It looked extremely cute but Im not sure how well it will hold up in P.E!This is what we did on Monday. We have used this style before but with braids and it holds up better during the day and I think it looks cuter braided too. We just didnt have time Monday morning to do it. Sis is getting harder to get out of bed as summer gets closer.
Our family is always so rushed. Tonight was no different! I spotted this quick do on one of my favorite hair blogs: http://hair4myprincess.blogspot.com/I changed it up alittle by using regular braids but it took less then 5 minutes and was very cute for Sunday night church. I also fixed it straight out of the tub so her hair was soaking wet and it still turned out nice. I can think of several ways to change this up.....with ribbon, jeweled bobby pins or tiny daisys.
Our weekends are so full with tball, baseball, church and about 100 other activities. So I look for easy ways to fix "Sis's" hair to save time. This fist one was real simple and super cute. We made it into pigtails because we had two matching bows. This is another one of our tball hair styles. It held up amazingly well and we got tons of compliments on it. The tiny braids stayed in well so the next day we just took down the pigtails and pulled it back up.
I made several new bows this afternoon. The first one is for the baby. I thought this would make a cute 4th of July outfit but that seems so far off now. She will probably have a different outfit by then. This is one of my 7 year old daughters dresses and we had nothing already made that would match so I made this one. Brown has become so popular lately, its in everything!
Today we went with a simple ponytail and spiced it up a bit. We did the zig zag part and braided 2 small pieces. Added them in at the base of the neck to the ponytail and of course put a big flower in Sis' hair. Im loving these flowers right now. They are so popular, beautiful and cheap! I got a pack at Michael's that had 6 in the container for only $4.99!
First let me start by telling everyone how great the hair blogs are online. I follow several and Im always looking for something new to try out on the girls hair. I found this one on Girls Curls and thought I would try a similar version. Goodness knows I can never copy something perfect no matter how hard I try. I added a big purple flower to this one to match "Sis's" shorts. It looked adorable. Then I got the baby 2 new outfits yesterday and had to make some matching bows. Both bugs....LOL. A cute pink ladybug and a bee. I just wanted to share.
Lately the weather here has been cool so we are doing "down-do's". Ive just been playing around with hairband braids. And of course a pic of the baby and her new bow. I made this headband interchangeable by putting the bows on little clips.
Today I got the baby a new outfit to have her 5 month picture made in on Thursday. Of course I had to make a matching bow. I hope it photographs well. I also made my oldest daughter 2 bows.....a ladybug and one to match her new blue short outfit. Yesterday I went to Michaels and bought a ton of new ribbon. They were having a huge sale so I went alittle wild. So I will be making a lot more bows soon.
It has been said I have a flip flop obsession. One which I have passed on to my 7 year old. So I made a korker hair bow with matching flip flops for her to wear. Poor kid, Ive turned her into my own personal Barbie. But I think she likes it!
I was reminded by my 7 year old daughter, 'Sis', that I needed to add pictures of the bows we made this week. So here they are:
